Woodland Creatures proudly presents artist Eiko Emersleben in our gallery space for the month of May.
The exhibition is a combination of black & white solarplate prints and colour photos. The photos are of people and scenes from the U.S West Coast, where Eiko recently lived for a couple of years.
His photographs capture a bit of oddity, melancholy and humour.
The solarplate prints are simple black & white compositions, mainly sombre landscapes. They are made by exposing an image onto a metal plate, which is then used for printing on paper.
Eiko is a self taught photographer and printmaker, with a day job as TV and film editor. He was born in Hamburg, Germany but now lives in Edinburgh.
