Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in the North
Paddle the length of Englands longest lake and raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research! This is a great opportunity for 10 people to paddle the length of Englands longest Lake! For a donation of £100 (or more if you would like!) you can get involved in this challenge! The guided trip will be lead by Mike Tomes, a qualified BCU Level 3 Sea kayak instructor, with 20 years of experience Canoe coaching. Mike is also a qualified First Aider. Set on the beautiful water of Windermere, you will get magnificent mountain views, paddle past grand houses, secluded bays and wooded islands. As you glide along you will hopefully see lots of wildlife and maybe even an otter! On route we will have various stops to stretch your legs on some beautiful beaches whilst enjoying a hot chocolate or an ice cream at the half way point. All kayaks, paddles, wet suits and waterproofs, dry bags (for spare clothes, food and drink) and buoyancy aids will be provided. The day also includes transport to and from the start. No experience need, just a reasonable level of fitness. You will be paddling a 'Dagger Charleston' touring kayak which is very stable and comfortable. You will need the energy and stamina to kayak 10.5 miles and the ability to paddle for approx 4 hours with breaks. You will need a change of clothes to take with you on the paddling trip, and shoes to get wet. Sun hat/cream/sunglasses. A BIG packed lunch will be needed along with lots of drinks. We will hopefully be finished by 3pm, with a celebration drink at the Wateredge Inn. This trip and other events are to raise money and awareness for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and have been inspired by Arran who has beaten Lymphoma TWICE and he is only 8! Get involved and support Arran and this great cause! Entering the event To enter please contact Mike and Claire Tomes on Facebook using the name Mike Tomes, via email at or by calling 01539436712
