Pre-Requisite: In order to teach WERQ, Instructors must hold a current & valid nationally recognized Group Fitness or Personal Training Certification. Participants may take WERQ Instructor Training prior to completing the Fitness Requirement, however participants will not be allowed to teach WERQ or join the WERQforce until a valid fitness certification is obtained and provided to WERQ Fitness, LLC. Those instructors meeting the Fitness Requirement will hold the title Licensed WERQ Instructor, may join the WERQforce and can teach WERQ classes. After training participants have 90 days to satisfy WERQ’s Fitness Certification Requirement.
About the training: WERQ Instructor Training reviews the Concepts and Branding behind WERQ, the Signature WERQ Warmup and Cooldown, WERQ Choreography Design, the 3Q1™ Method of Cueing WERQ classes, and how to join the WERQforce (see FAQ). Throughout the training, look for “Fitness 101” concepts – basic fitness concepts that all Fitness Professionals must know. Expect both lecture and practical portions of the training. The goal of WERQ Instructor Training is for participants to leave with a solid understanding of the WERQ format and the skills to launch a WERQ dance fitness class.
What to bring: Please bring a copy of your Fitness Certification to training if you’ve already met the fitness certification requirement. Also bring water, snacks, change of workout clothes, sweatshirt, and a pen.
Participants must attend the training in its entirety. Late arrivals will be allowed to complete the rest of the training but will not be eligible to achieve the rank of Licensed WERQ Instructor until completing a full training including the full master class with warmup.
Continuing Education: This course has been approved for 6.0 AFAA CEUs and 0.7 ACE CECs.
WERQforce: WERQ is a pre-choreographed dance fitness format. All Licensed WERQ Instructors are required to be a member of the WERQforce to stay licensed and to access the Official WERQ Choreography Online Library.
