DORRI C. SCOTT is President & CEO of Ruby Red Press LLC – a Media Communications Group and Publisher of three Northern VA regional magazines including Loudoun Woman Magazine, Arlington Woman Journal and Prince William County Woman. Each bimonthly publication educates, empowers, inspires and informs.
She is the Radio Host / “Personality” of a talk show on WINC 92.5. “Do Brunch with Dorri and Friends” airs every Sunday morning. The author of three books, she is a regular blogger “Speak to Me Softly” and has written over 100 articles which have appeared in various academic and women interest publications. Her newest book entitled “HOPE” for breast cancer survivors and their families will be published Fall 2014.
The Founder and Volunteer Director of an Executive Women’s Leadership Mentoring program – WILLL (Women’s Institute for Leadership and Life Learning) Dorri serves as a mentor, coach and consultant to participants – over 100 annually. A “powerful and lively” speaker, she travels the USA inspiring others using words, storytelling and an unforgettable voice. “So You Want To Write a Book,” one of her signature workshops, has gained national recognition- especially it appeals to aspiring authors.
A woman on the move, Dorri is a committed community leader, active on many national, local, political and civic organizations including several Chambers of Commerce, the National Speakers Association, National Women MBAs, Hillary for President 2016 team, Women CEOS, Press Women organizations, Women and the Pen, Women Executive Publishers, National Press Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and her local church.
Dorri loves to read, “any book will do,” write in her journal, great conversations, yoga, laughing out loud and travel. She is the mother of two young adults; Brittany Joi, a Massage Therapist and Brycen Scott, a rising senior at Cornell University. Especially she enjoys any weekend she can “get away” to spend quality time with her mother celebrating 84 years – this year. The proud mother also owns a furry 4 legged friend named “Fango” and contributes to animal shelters to save lives.
She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School, holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work (University of KS) and B.A. in Political Science (College of NJ). Born in New Jersey she is a Washington DC area transplant where she has lived (and loves life) for over 16 years.
