Come march with Mormons for Equality as we show our FULL support for our LGBTQA family, friends, and neighbors! Mormons for Equality will again be marching in the Utah Pride Parade in Salt Lake City, June 7, 2015, to give voice for Mormons who stand up not just for love, but for full legal equality for our LGBTQA family, friends and neighbors! Particularly with marriage equality now legal in Utah, as well as the passage of SB 296 (the Anti-Discrimination law) it is critically important to show we as Mormons fully support these laws and policies. We want to unite in person to advocate for the principle that all are alike unto God, and that all should be treated equally under the law. WHERE TO MEET Mormons For Equality IS #__ IN THE PARADE LINE UP. WE ARE IN BETWEEN THE _____ & ______. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE IN THE ____ LOADING ZONE. PLEASE MEET AT ______ SALT LAKE CITY UT 84102. They have asked that those marching in a group be there some time between 9:30-10:15 am. Several of us will be there earlier to find our place in the parade and have our "Mormons For Equality" banner ready. We encourage you to walk, carpool, ride Trax, etc. UTA will be running extra shifts on Sunday morning because of the festival so take advantage of that. The parade starts at 10 am. WHAT TO WEAR We encourage you to wear whatever is most comfortable to you. Some will be in Sunday dress while others will don t-shirts and shorts. If you have any Mormons For Equality clothing/apparel that would be a great option! Also bright colors (rainbows especially! ) are always wonderful. *Whatever you wear please make sure you have comfortable shoes and sunscreen if you need it. The weather will be fairly hot (mid 70's-80's) so please be aware of that by wearing something that will keep you cool (shorts/skirt/short sleeve/light pants/etc.) SIGNAGE Mormons For Equality represents a more progressive group of LDS members who stand up for the FULL equality of the LGBTQA community. While there are other Mormon groups who just want to show love, we not only want to show love but also that there are LDS/Mormon members who do support the full legal equality of our LGBTQA family, friends, and neighbors. Some sign examples that convey this message include: General Support: "This Mormon Supports Gay Rights" "Mormon Dad for Gay Rights" "Mormon whose Pro-Equality, yes we exist" "Hate is not a family value" "I support FULL LGBTQA Equality b/c I'm a Mormon, not in spite of it."
