As you will be aware, on Saturday 25th April 2015 Nepal was struck with a massive earthquake, severely affecting the lives of at least 8 million people. Nepal’s major cities, including the capital Kathmandu, have been badly damaged and left many homeless.
On Tuesday 12th May 2015, Nepal was struck with another major earthquake leaving the country and its citizens with lives and homes to be rebuilt.
The University of Sunderland has been working with a number of USLC students to organise a fundraising event to raise money to help Nepal recover from these devastating earthquakes.
The ‘NEPAL EARTHQUAKE FUNDRAISER’ will take place at the University of Sunderland London Campus on Wednesday 27th May 2015 from 5pm to 7pm (3rd floor).
The event will include a candle light vigil, an opportunity to reflect together, a raffle, ambient music, food and drink.
Donations boxes will be available on the 27th May 2015 if any students wish to donate money. The donation boxes will be at Gateway from 9am to 5pm and then on the 3rd floor from 5pm to 7pm.
Tickets for the event are £1 and are available from the Gateway now.
All proceeds from the donation boxes and ticket sales will be donated to DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee).
This event is open to University of Sunderland London Campus students only
