The Grand Week(end) On the Edge
For years the Theatre and Performance, Theatre and Dance, Creative Music Technology and Popular Music programmes have functioned as creative laboratories at the University of Hull, Scarborough campus, in which students have learned, practised and experimented with notions of the contemporary in the visual and performing arts before leaving to develop diverse careers and pursue their own distinctive dreams. A celebration of this vibrant period, and of the Scarborough spirit, gives us all a space to reflect on our collective achievements and anticipate future opportunities.
Therefore, we invite everybody who wants to share in this celebration - alumni, staff as well as artistic associates - to join us for a last Grand Week(end) in Scarborough.
Grand Weekend Out (13-14 June): You are invited back to that seaside town where it all began. Come and share your stories in a creative environment; catch up with your contemporaries; discover new friends; create new networks; develop new ideas for the future and join in with a last collective celebration of our work. Help us celebrate with a bang and form a powerful network for the future!
If you can join us, please RSVP by 15th April to
Grand Residency Week In (8-12 June):
All Theatre and Performance and or/ Theatre and Dance alumni interested in a space in which to experiment and work on emerging/creative ideas or performances are invited to participate in campus-based residencies throughout the week. These consist of the use of the Performance studios from the 8th - 12th of June. The week culminates in a performance presentation with feedback on the Friday evening.
To apply all you need to do is send a short brief (no more than one page) with a theme and an outline of your plans for the residency to James Barker (email@example.com) along with your preferred space and availability by 15th April.
So, head on over to the edge of Yorkshire and raise a glass to life, the universe and everything with us to celebrate the years of performance in Scarborough!
For any further details please feel free to contact James Barker (event curator) at: firstname.lastname@example.org .
Looking forward to see you in Scarborough in June,
The Theatre and Performance & Creative Music Technology Teams
