For the third year running, we take over a club in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong, to bring you all an element-based event that supports live Hip-Hop - from Breakdancers to MCs to up-and-coming DJs. The last two years have become bigger and bigger with many Hong Kong talents getting involved, UGKs and beyond.
Built *for the culture, by the culture* we encourage everyone that loves Hip-Hop to come out and get down for the love of the jam. No egos, no high-cost bookings, no rules for the dance floor – just a night of great music and entertainment! Our aim is to make Unity Jam Asia even bigger now with the support of the international community of Zulus, Hip-Hop DJs, plus other talented artists, and move forward into another amazing year. Invited back are all the favs from the past two Unity Jams as well as a few newcomers.
Not sure if you want to go? Not sure if it’s your type of crowd or music? Just check out the attached videos and links and then let us know what you think by attending. We also plan to link up with the 3rd annual "HipHop x Reggae Junk” party and offer all ticket holders a seat! Currently we’re looking for more sponsors and willing performers to to help us grow while we prepare to launch our marketing campaign.
UNITY JAM ASIA, created by Made4Hire Productions & Anthony Jenkins (aka MC “Ekorb”), is for the Hong Kong Hip-Hop Scene in association with local and international Zulu Chapters, plus additional guest DJs and MCs. An annual event now in its third year, the previous instalments have featured international acts DJ Wordy [China] and DJ Don Martinez [France], alongside Hong Kong talents including DJ Enso & DJ Yao, DJ Xlarge, DJ Gruv, and The Groove Thief. Vocal performers include Aych [USA] and Yana Fortep [Russia] as well as local MCs Loki Dolo, Mikey plus host Ekorb.
To bring talented artists and the music community together for a diverse night of cultural awareness. To further advance networking between artists, promoters, and supporters of Hip-Hop, its related arts, and beyond. To continue building bridges for communication within the local and international night life community. To better educate the Hong Kong public about the elements of Hip-Hop and how they connect to other genres of popular music. To give back to the scene itself and further encourage creative and cultural unity here in Hong Kong.
To establish UNITY JAM ASIA as the preeminent source for real Hip-Hop talent and advice. We want people to walk away knowing that Hip-Hop is a culture - not just music – and to understand all the elements involved beyond just MCing. Another important goal is to collaborate with the Zulu community and incorporate it into the foundation of Hong Kong’s Hip-Hop culture. HIP-HOP not Hip-Pop, and we aim to clearly define and embrace the former.
One jam, One night, One love. On one stage at one venue. A night built thanks to our featured artists, contributing sponsors, and creative brands.
We have invited the best from around SEAsia to come and be apart of this event. No egos, no drama: just love for the culture of Hip-Hop.
We will also feature some up-and-coming DJs and Artists, as well as at least one international special guest.
Tickets will go on sell May 11th, for SUPER CHEAP and then increase as we get closer to the event. Your participation and our kind sponsors help us to keep this event growing every year… we could not do this without the support of the city and its love for Hip-Hop. One person does make a difference, so come jam with us this year and be that difference you want to see in Asia's Hip-Hop culture.
