MAY 30, 2015 SATURDAY Joint Tulare/Fresno Field Trip BIG MEADOW with PENNY STEWART
Enjoy the high country and its special birds on this journey to Big Meadow near Grant Grove. Elevation is about 7,500 ft so it could be cool in the morning but warm in the afternoon. Be prepared with layers. We hope to see Williamson’s Sapsucker, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Mountain Chickadee, Pine Siskin, possibly Red Crossbill, Black-backed Woodpecker and other high altitude specialties.
We will meet May 30 at the Sears Parking lot at 6:15 am with a prompt 6:30 departure. We meet Fresno Audubon at the Hume Lake Ranger Station in Squaw Valley at 7:30 AM.
Bring binoculars, bird book, lots of water, lunch, layered clothing, sun hat and sun block etc.
