It's time for the Spring clean up of Troy Park on Saturday, May 16, from 10 am to noon, followed by a potluck picnic. It's one of the best traditions of the Long Branch Creek neighborhood! Many of you have participated in the past, and we hope you will come out again this year. It's a great opportunity to beautify the neighborhood and spend time getting to know your neighbors.
As in the past, we will provide gloves and bags. We need help picking up trash along the creek bed, particularly near the Glebe St. bridge. For those of you who want to clean out brush and invasive plants, please bring your own garden tools such as saws, loppers, clippers, etc. Wear appropriate clothing-- long pants and long-sleeved shirts are best-- and boots.
For the potluck, please plan on bringing a side dish. We will provide beverages, plates, utensils, napkins, etc.
For food and beverage planning purposes, please send me an RSVP email at email@example.com if you can attend. We welcome all last minute participants, too, so don't think you have to commit right now.
As always, we couldn't do this without Bill McLaughlin, our resident plant and tree expert, and Ron Hogans, who coordinates with Arlington County and secures a donation from Giant.
Thanks so much and look forward to seeing you on May 16th
