Trail work is starting up again on the Seneca Creek Greenway. We will be working on another re-route to move the trail out of the flood plain. The county has rough cut the tread. We will be grooming the tread, making a 45 degree angle on the back of the bench cut and generally getting dirty. Work will be from 9:00 to 1:00.
We will meet at the intersection of Midcounty Hwy and Grassy Knoll Terrace in Germantown. Please park off the pavement and leave room for other cars. Here is a google map: http://goo.gl/maps/S4CMa (Please be aware - this is an orphaned section of Midcounty Hwy. People familiar with "Midcounty Hwy" in Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village could be confused, as the two sections do not communicate with each other. Access to this section is from Middlebrook Road, NOT Montgomery Village Ave, NOT Shady Grove Rd.)
All tools will be provided. Please bring your own water. We will be working in a meadow/forested area so wearing the appropriate clothing and footwear is very important. All volunteers must wear sturdy closed toe shoes (boots are preferable) and long pants. Long sleeve shirts and hats are preferred to shade the sun and clothes that can get dirty. Gardening gloves advised. There are no bathrooms on-site.
If you arrive late, go straight ahead from the parking area. Turn RIGHT when you reach the Greenway Trail.
