The organizing Committee is pleased to announce the 5th annual Tracy MacKenzie Memorial Walk/Run for Autism. Proceeds going toward Project Lifesaver PEI. Project Lifesaver is a Not For Profit charitable organization that is dedicated to training and assisting emergency response agencies to track and locate people who have cognitive disorders who may be prone or at risk of wandering. This is done when an individual with a disorder such as Autism, Dementia, Alzheimer's, or Down Syndrome is enrolled in the program is then fitted with a small personalized transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individual tracking signal. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies 911 and the trained emergency team from PEI Ground Search and Rescue responses to the wander's area with the equipment to track & locate them.
