On Thursday 4th June and Friday 5th June, Duckes Meadow will play host to the 10th annual ‘Touch Duckes’ tournament. Including both Rugby and Rounders tournaments.
We will as ever be donating proceeds to charity, and have selected the Matt Hampson Trust and the RFU Injured Players Foundation to benefit from this year’s proceeds. To learn more about our chosen charities please visit:
‘Touch Duckes’ is an invitational 2-day touch rugby tournament coupled with some fantastic après rugger at the premier student nightspot – Timepiece. This event is all about fun in the sun and the focus is as much on the spectators and the side-lines as it is on the rugby, with a combination of free entry for spectators, drinks, food, competitions and live music from Sam Baker-Doodles, these two days are absolutely un-missable.
This years Tournament is going to bigger then ever with the expansion of the tournament however as always spaces for teams are limited, with last years tournament filling up within 4 days of opening make sure you get your team entry in as soon as you can. This expansion has also led to the complete hire of the Timepiece complex (Hole In The Wall, Old Timers and TP) for the après party. YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO ENTER THE APRES PARTY WITH THIS YEARS WRISTBAND ON AND YOU CAN ONLY GET A WRISTBAND IF YOU ARE IN A TEAM. Timepiece will open from 7.30 so you can head over there as soon as early as you want. (the wristband guarantees you entry into the complex not necessarily upstairs TP)
We are delighted to announce that Touch Duckes will be teaming up with the magical Enchanted Garden Ball this Summer! On the night of the Enchanted Garden Ball, the winning Touch Duckes teams will receive a free bottle of bubbly AND a complimentary Safer Sex Ball (December 2015) ticket for every member (10 for Rugby, 9 for Rounders).
With over 2000 tickets sold already, the EGB 2015 is set to be a sell-out. If you don't have your ticket already, never fear… the next ticket release will be on 22nd March for one day only. Get your ticket here: http://www.theenchantedgroup.com/buytickets/
The First Fifteen Club would like to express ou gratitude to The Enchanted Group for their support.
Last years team entry was filled within 4 days of it opening so make sure you get it in as quick as you can.
The rounders tournament will operate in exactly the same way with all participants receiving one of the much sought after and highly fashionable TD beaters, provided by Dirty Dog Rugby, entry to the after party and a couple of days they will never forget all included in the entry fee.
Why not enter an old school team, a side to represent your university or assemble a barbarian squad of the finest players and friends you can find.
Last year over 850 players took part with the tournament culminating in a tantalising final and an emphatic victory for ‘Top Top Chop Chop” captained by George Fleming. It’s all to play for with trophies, medals and player of the tournament up for grabs.
As ever there will be a high stakes raffle, which anyone is entitled to buy tickets for. Tickets will be priced at only £1 a ticket or £2 per strip and there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs. These will be available for purchase over the two days of competition and during the build-up to the tournament itself.
TEAM ENTRY WILL OPEN ON MONDAY 2ND MARCH AT 1200
Rugby = £150 for a 10 man team
Rounders = £135 for a 9 woman team
For a chance to win £75 worth of Timepiece drinks vouchers please attach a team photo to your entry email as of the 2nd March 1200 and the winning teams will be announced on the opening day of Touch Duckes!
