As many of you know on February 24, 2015 we lost our dearest brother and vocalist Tim Tuke to Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer at the age of 31. Tim fought bravely and had the most positive attitude in those four months since he was first diagnosed. He was and is a great inspiration to all of us, and there wasn’t one of us that thought he wouldn’t beat it. He made us believe that by his example and we were devastated when he departed from us. The theme of this event is “Never Give Up”. Tim never gave up fighting and hoping not even on his final day. In the hospital while undergoing chemotherapy when we were only concerned with his health he was quick to point out that he was not quitting the band, and that he would let us know if he would, and he never did. That was Tim Tuke, even while fighting for his life his only concern was not letting anybody down. Now it is up to us to Never Give Up. The purpose of this special event is to not only honor our fallen brother, but to make good on a promise that we as a band made to ourselves. That promise was to make sure that Tim’s wife and children were provided for and are able to start their lives again. This event is for Tasha, Mickael, and Justin Tuke who have lost the best husband and Dad in the world.
We cannot really say that we are hosting this event. What we can say is that we put up a sincere prayer and then asked everybody we knew for their help. Our prayers were answered because we received more help that we could have ever dreamed of. Below is a list of some very special people whom we would like to thank and detail their loving generosity to this event. We sincerely want to thank all of you who will attend and share this event. We look forward to seeing you all May 30th.
Wes Ferguson and the Magna Arts Council and the City of Magna Town Council: They have made it possible to have this event at Pleasant Green Park and will be providing the stage and sound gear for the bands, the bounce houses for the kids to play in, cold beverages from their Coke Wagon, and they will be sharing this event in their newsletter to over 8000 local residents.
UMF of America and A.B.A.T.E of Utah: Our dearest friends from Utah County ABATE and UMF will be hosting a huge raffle at this event. They will also be orchestrating a memorial ride that day that will end at the park. They will also be providing a smaller bounce house for toddlers; they want to make sure the littlest of us stay safe! Both UMF and ABATE are no strangers to charitable activities, they are always busy working hard for those in need.
Nonna’s Pizzeria: Many thanks to Sebastian and Tina Randazzo for agreeing to feed the hungry crowd at this event! They will be selling their delicious pizza by the slice and a portion of this will be going directly towards our fundraising effort.
Groove Merchants: We are honored to have the Groove Merchants perform at this event from 2:00 until 3:30PM! Not only are they an extraordinary band that performs all over the world, but one of their vocalists is none other than Jeff Tuke, Tim’s older brother. We are very excited to be blessed with Jeff performing at his brother’s memorial benefit.
Reckless Spirit: We wanted to invite a band that Tim, Codiann, Derek, and I respected to perform at this event. They were kind enough to perform at our CD release party in February 2014 and they are a band that we admire and are fans of personally. We thank them for joining us for this special event and they will be performing from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
The Utah Blues Society: We would like to thank the Utah Blues Society for their support and promotion of this event. A very special thanks to Brian Kelm host of the Red, White, & Blues program on KRCL 90.9 FM and the entire KRCL staff and management.
Superhero’s!!!!: Tasha Tuke and her team of crime fighting super heroes will be busy entertaining the kids. They will also be taking pictures with the children and you will be able to download these pictures for free from our Facebook page after the event. This is a collaboration of different charitable teams from around the State and they really light up the kids eyes when they are in attendance.
Face Paint Extraordinaire: Shelley Johnson went to High School with Tim and she will be bringing her company to paint amazing faces on all those wanting a transformation. We are so happy to have her at the event.
Ruredi Photography & Robert L. Worthen Photograpy: Jim Mounteer and Robert Worthen have generously donated their time and professional camera skills to document this wonderful event. We thank you both for doing this and cannot wait to see the photos!
Robert Goble: Magna Local Author Robert Goble has always been a big fan of Tim’s voice and Parchman Farm. His kindness and support of the band is greatly appreciated. He will be selling his novels and donating to the days charity. If you love books make sure and pick up some copies you will love his work.
Utah School of Massage Therapy: Amie Rossetti & Jennie Day of USMT have organized massage technicians that will be setting up a booth to treat your tired and aching muscles! They are distributing the event flyer around their campus as well. Tim and his Dad Terry were regular clients of USMT and we are so thankful to have them at this event!
A very special thank you to Buddy Morgan at miltonmorgan.com for providing the graphic design for this event. He is our go to guy for digital graphics and the designer of our second CD, Revelation.
All of us in Parchman Farm along with our families will be the stage hands, pizza transport providers, hug givers, and anything else that is required of us on this day. We thank you all very much and love you.
