...A completely real comedy competition.
Two of Vancouver’s favourite musical comedians face off against in each other in the “Ultimate Humour Grand Championship” - the final round of a very actual legitimate comedy competition.
Hosted by Wes Borg
Vancouver's very own "chanteuse-provocatrice" Shirley Gnome (www.twitter.com/shirleygnome) takes her audience through a salacious musical romp with more than just a edge of raunchiness. She takes the wine-soaked truths shared between women in the privacy of their living rooms and weaves them into a night of catchy and beautifully performed songs. With "the voice of a Goddess" (Three Weeks, Edinburgh), Gnome delivers her observations on love, sex, romance, and desire with an ephemeral beauty that contrasts the profanities laced into her clever lyrics. Hilarious, endearing, thought-provoking and honest to the point of shock, Gnome's music has had audiences all over North America and the UK in hysterics - often in spite of their own modesty. Winner - Funniest Show, Frigid NY Theatre Festival. Canadian Comedy Award Nominee for Best Variety Act 2014. People's Champ of Comedy Winner 2012.
Colin Lamb (of Terry) was born amidst the wastelands of small town Southern Ontario. He somehow managed to escape the frightening realities of his upbringing and attended the Humber School Of Comedy in Toronto, ON where he came to understand the true meaning of student debt. Colin currently lives in Vancouver, BC where he is gradually going bald and pays too much rent. Drawing influence from acts like Corky and The Juice Pigs, Tenacious D and Flight of The Conchords, Terry combines dark themes of dishevelled, drunken life with catchy, sweet melody. Colin has performed his unique brand of dark musical comedy in bars, comedy clubs and theatres all across BC. He has just released his debut album, "Eponymous Release", on January 31st, 2015 which is available on iTunes. He has also written and produced 2 music videos to support the album.
