As many of you may know, our good friend Steve was diagnosed with Invasive Nonkeratinizing Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the throat in late February and as he gears up for what will be the fight of his life, we - his family and friends; are gathering to support him and his family; financially, emotionally and spiritually. Steve has worked as a Lab Assistant at Valley Regional Hospital for the last 13 years where he is usually heard before being seen; with an energetic "hey buddy" to all those he meets, a whistled melody through the halls, or a guitar serenade in the lunch room - his presence here and everywhere he goes is beyond measure. Steve is a pillar of the Music community. He is a Jazz Musician who has collaborated with every musician in the Valley at one point or another, whether it be when performing at one of the many local restaurants - The Port Pub, The Verge, The Tempest to name a few or on a Friday night at the Blomidon Inn. He has taught guitar for the past 20 years; giving rise to many of the great local artists we have today! A family man who has lived in the Valley 30+ years; hubby to Carol, Dad to Morghain (24), Owen (16), Rachel (13), Angus (11), and friend to all he meets; Steve has an insatiable appetite for life - almost comparable to that as his appetite for great food! A man with an endless smile, a bounce in his step and a heart of pure gold...we rally behind you Steve as you undergo radiation and chemotherapy, know that we are here for you no matter what the need - we love you… Please join us May 15 for this once in a lifetime event to support this amazing man.
