The Rainbow Run is Barnsley's very own colour run which will take place at Locke Park Barnsley on the 17th May 2015. Come along and take part in the most colourful, exciting run Barnsley has ever seen! You can run, walk, skip, jump or dance around either a 1k or 5k route that's great for all the family! This spectacular colour event is returning for its second year and is child-friendly, buggy-friendly and accessible for all. The run will not be timed so it's up to you whether you take it seriously or just fancy a laugh!
As you run the course, you'll be greeted by five different colour stations; red, blue, green, yellow and purple. Our Rainbow Warriors will be on board at each station to throw powder paint and cover you from head to toe in all colours of the rainbow. We can ensure you that the power paint is safe and made from natural, organic products so as not to affect the environment and participants.
Live music and craft stalls will keep you and your family entertained throughout the day and you'll be able to grab a bite to eat once you've completed your race from the Locke Park cafe.
Barnsley Hospital Charity raises funds to support local care that goes above and beyond. Your support has already allowed us to provide care for some of the most vulnerable people in our community at times that can be very difficult.
Sponsorship is hugely important for events such as the Rainbow Run and is incredibly worthwhile. Start by spreading the word to family, friends and colleagues and let them know why you're raising money and where it will be going. You can even set up a Justgiving page and promote this via social media on the run-up to the event to maximize your sponsorship.
