"An ensemble whose playing has everything you could wish for - miraculously honed intonation and perfect ensemble playing matched by innate understanding" - BBC Music Magazine
The Jerusalem Quartet is simply one of the world's greatest string quartets. These musicians are at the peak of their career, still youthful but with twenty years experience. They redefine how audiences perceive the string quartet repertoire, and set the benchmark upon which other quartets are measured.
Returning to Hong Kong after wowing audiences in the 2013 Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival, the Jerusalem Quartet makes every concert a special event.
In their only Hong Kong appearance, they will be playing a recital that spans the centures - from Mozart to Bartok, and features the masterpiece of the quartet repertoire, Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" - his farewell to love in the wake of discovering his terminal illness. The Jerusalem Quartet's recording of Death and the Maiden won the 2009 ECHO Classic Award in the category "Best chamber music recording of the year (19th century, strings)" amongst other awards.
