"The Heifer Festival of Plymouth Church is this Sunday, May 17th in Kirkland Hall immediately following worship!
Learning Community teachers and children with Christian Education Board members have chosen the Knitters' Gift Basket as a focus of the Heifer Festival this spring.
A Knitter's Gift Basket includes a llama, an alpaca, a sheep and an Angora rabbit. This gift for knitters also ensures families are instructed on how to properly feed and care for the animals.
Each Knitter's Gift Basket will:
• Nourish families with milk from the llama and sheep
• Keep families warm with wool that can be made into sweaters and scarves
• Provide a source of income from the sale of clothing and blankets made from the wool
These four animals, included in the knitting basket, will provide families with ample wool for warmth, as well as a source of income. The donation of a Knitter's Gift Basket from Plymouth Church represents an opportunity for a better life.
Here’s how you can be involved:
Come to the Plymouth Church Heifer Festival, play a game with yarn, share a meal, pick out a plant for your porch or garden. Purchase a Basket of Gifts from the Silent Auction.
Share a taste of your favorite homemade salsa for the meal.
Help in the kitchen or with clean up.
The Heifer Festival will also include live Alpaca outside of the church in the Point and a baby lamb in Kirkland Hall. Plymouth members will even choose the name of the baby lamb on Sunday!
