The Garden Club of Monroeville invites you to take a tour through their members' gardens from spring through fall. This beautifully photographed slide presentation is narrated by Shirley Brody, President of the Garden Club of Monroeville, with photographs by freelance photographer Gil Brody. Gil is retired from ALCOA where he was an industrial photographer for 37 years, traveling on assignments to South America, Europe, Africa and throughout the United States. Shirley is a retired secretary and retired florist. She has been a member of the Garden Club of Monroeville (formerly the University Park Garden Club) for 49 years and is currently the club president. She has done many programs for area Garden Clubs in both floral design and horticulture. She was one of 28 artists in the Artist At Work Gallery in Pittsburgh's Strip District, and the 1968 "Album of Beauty" calendar featured one of her designs. Shirley and Gil have been married for 60 years and have four children and three grandchildren. They enjoy working on projects together and in this presentation will guide you through an impressive panoply of local gardens photographed in spring, summer and fall. The program will also include horticulture tips and information.
