Moving to the 2010 Course this year, the 1st course in history constructed specifically to host The Ryder Cup, The 3rd Annual Amber Energy Charity Cup plans to be bigger and better.
To support the fight against cancer and to support the days success Ask4 have teamed up as the official partners to the Charity Cup in 2015. (You can find out more about ask4 here> http://ask4.com)
Still supporting the fight against cancer and looking to add to the impressive £18,000 already raised for Charity Amber Energy & Ask4 are inviting golfers to battle it out in a Ryder Cup (yes it will be Europe vs USA!).
Once registered for the day the organisers will sort golfers into the most appropriate representation for Europe or USA (so if your a 'look a like' for Darren Clarke you'll know your place).
Your team polo shirt will be ordered so your ready to kick off for the day & from arrival at the 2010 clubhouse it will be clear as to whether you are a 'tourist' or representing good old Europe.
Team Captains will be on hand to take teams across to the famous golf range area, (after a bacon bap of course), before a staggered tee-off between 09:50hrs and 13:00hrs (we will of course confirm tee-off times well before the event). Those travelling the furthest will be given priority on the later tee-off times.
The format will be a 4-ball that consists of 2 players from Europe vs 2 players from USA. Where you have a 4-ball that plays regularly together and wish to enjoy the day together we will pitch you against each other (so 2 players representing Europe & 2 representing the USA). So please let us know your preference. Scoring will be the same as in the Ryder Cup but all holes will be competed (as it would be a shame to be walking off of the course on the 10th hole!)...
Once tee'd off you'll be able to stay in touch with the action by using V-par technology; making it easy to see if the group ahead have Europe Winning? & the overall standings for the day (you can find out more about this technology here> http://www.vpar.com/home).
The course is long and we're hoping for a hot sunny May so we've arranged a complimentary buggy for each pair (one for the Europe players & one for the American's in each four-ball). Of course, we will make sure you are adequately hydrated on the way round (whether that's with Peroni or diet coke is up to you).
After the round there will be plenty of time to watch the final pairs hit balls into the lake/green on the 18th green and to watch the leaderboard change as matches close off.
A 3 Course Dinner will kick off around 6/7pm at the 2010 Clubhouse (so we can overlook the 18th green and remember our shots in... (final timings to be confirmed) and the Ryder Cup will be lifted by Europe or America following desert, around 8.30pm-8.45pm.
As the winners lift the trophy and the runners-up look to drown their sorrows and to discuss the minor details... 'had I hit that ball straight and long into the 18th we would have won'? we will all celebrate the successes of the day and the money raised for Cancer Research into the late hours.
For those heading back for work Friday we aim to get you on your way before 9pm, and for those staying at the manor or close by we will continue through to the late hours.
In any case, we will make sure the day is fun, relaxed, and enjoyable & we look forward to your support!
