The Authentic Bonnie & Clyde Festival in Gibsland, Louisiana, is on Friday, May 22 and Saturday May 23.
Each year, the festival starts on the weekend closest to the May 23, 1934 anniversary date of the ambush of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. The festival commemorates the historical ambush of Bonnie Parker & Clyde Barrow. , pay due respect to the lawmen & honor the victims and families.
Every year the festival kicks off on Friday Night with live entertainment and a dinner of chicken & rice around 6pm. Cost: $10 at the door. Following dinner is the Lorraine Joyner Historical Meeting featuring guest speakers which include family members, historians, and authors.
Saturday's festivities start off with a pancake breakfast at the Lion's Club between 8am-10am. A parade, vendors, live entertainment, & reenactments. The festival closes with a 7.2 drive out to the actual ambush site for an reenactment of the memorable day when Bonnie & Clyde were finally stopped by the law.
