In this 2 hour workshop, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of Belly Dance movement and technique.
In this workshop you will learn posture and alignment, muscle awareness, hip work, isolation of upper body movements, and balance awareness. Specific techniques include, hip circles, figure eights, twists, undulations, hand gestures, arm placement, and traveling steps (footwork).
The workshop will conclude with a choreography routine, putting into action what we learned in class!

Chemagne Martin is a multi-faceted performing artist who has been working in the arts and entertainment industry for over 20 years. A professional Bellydance artist, dynamic dance performer, and a brilliant instructor, Chemagne’s style combines years of experience as a dancer and yoga practitioner with a love for dance and movement.
Chemagne has been featured on television shows and in magazines including Canadian Health and Lifestyle Magazine, The Diva Dish, Caribbean Current, Rogers Daytime Toronto and Three Takes Talk Show. She has also been a guest speaker at women’s conferences such as, The Diva Girl Conference, and Ignite n' Connect for Positive Fabulous Women. In 2014, Chemagne launched her instructional DVD, Chemagne Bellydance for Beginner’s Vol. 1 and was nominated for Best Traditional Dance Artist by the Black Canadian Awards Association.
