Tempest Triumph and Treachery Tournament

Hello ya'll! We have a fun T&T tournament coming up at Tempest Games on the 7th of June! It should be one hell of a time! Here are all the details! Tournament Rules: Armies will consist of 1250 points or less, using the army creation rules outlined in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles Rulebook, all FAQ’s are supported as well. Players may take a Mercenary unit consisting of 200 points or less Mercenary units must be selected from a different army book as the player’s main force. ( A player may not hire mercenaries from their own army.) Mercenaries must include at least one character model to the be the contingent’s Mercenary Captain. If there are several characters in the unit, the model with the highest leadership is the Captain. Make note of your mercenary captain on your army list! Mercenary units may take options normally available to them and are subject to all of their normal army special rules. Mercenaries are always treated as Suspicious Allies to the their owning player! Loyalty and Bribing rules for Mercenary units on the table will be used per rules in the Triumph and Treachery Rulebook. If a player chooses not to purchase a Mercenary unit for his army, then that player will start the tournament with a single Silver piece (150 Victory Points) already in his Paychest! Players MUST use the same army list throughout the tournament. Army books, Army book Supplements and FAQ’s released prior to May 31st, 2015 will be allowed in this event. Games will scored based on two categories, Battle objectives and Victory points. Battle Objectives WILL be used to determine the winner of the game and for all subsequent pairings and standings. Battle Objectives will be objectives to be captured and controlled throughout the games. At the end of each game the player(s) with any objective(s) will be given Victory points in a value determined by the scenario. Players will accumulate Victory points throughout the tournament and each game, these points will then be converted into Victory tokens. At the end of each phase in each game, each player receives Victory tokens equal to every FULL 50 victory points they scored in that phase, ignoring any “spare” points that are left over. Each player’s victory tokens make up their Paychest. IT IS YOUR DUTY TO KEEP TRACK OF ALL OF YOUR VICTORY POINTS AND PAYCHEST TOTAL!!! Any person found inflating numbers will forfeit all of their paychest to the other players at their current table! Victory Token Values: 1) Brass coin = 50 Victory Points 2) Silver coin = 150 Victory Points 3) Gold Coin = 250 Victory Points 4) Gold Ingot = 1500 Victory Points Victory Tokens are not secret and other players may ask how many tokens you have accumulated at any time. At any time during the game, players may give away Victory Tokens to other players if they wish. These tokens you pay could be used as a bribe to another player to not attack you or payment for possibly teaming up on someone. Note: that deals and arrangements that are struck before the coins are handed over are not binding, so be careful for you don’t give away your coins to a dishonorable scallywag! An award will be given to the player at the end of the tournament with the LARGEST paychest at the end of all 3 of their games. After each round all players will have an opportunity to guess who had the largest Paychest at the other tables. These results will be tallied up at the end of the tournament and a prize for the most devious will be given to the person that has been voted for the most. This mechanic is being installed to add a further sense of competition to the tournament! Keep in mind that your paychest is available to bribe and coerce other players throughout the tournament, both in and out of play! This means you are able to bribe and effect possible outcomes on other tables, if you so choose. Players will also be given the ability to spend accumulated Paychest tokens to either move to a different table or stay at their current table. Essentially you are bribing the Gods to put you into a more advantageous position. Values for this will be given the day of the tournament. ===================================================================== All games will be played on a 4x6 table with moderate preset terrain. In the interest of fun and clarity all missions will be pulled from the Warhammer Fantasy Battles Triumph and Treachery rulebook. Each mission will have special rules associated with the scenario being played. Be ready for some strategy and maybe just a little bit of luck to win! Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Overall winners. The “Most Triumphant Award” will go to the player that has the largest Paychest at the end of all tournament games. The “Most Treacherous Award” will go to the player that has lied, bribed, coerced, and influenced his/her way into the hearts and minds of their fellow players, by being voted on. All models and units in the game MUST be WYSIWYG! (What You See Is What You Get) No exceptions! If you have any questions concerning conversions or third party model usage, ask me ahead of time. 5 minutes before dice drop, is not acceptable! Electronically printed army lists are required! One for TO and one for each of your opponents. Each army list MUST contain the following details: Player Name, the name of any Characters in said army, levels of all Wizards and spell casters, and unit and character information for any mercenary units taken as part of your force. Each player must write down all spells on their army list after they have been rolled for each game. Just having cards out to represent the spells is not enough! The Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition Rules, Triumph and Treachery rules, and all relevant Games Workshop Errata and FAQs will be used. In the case of a conflict between a printed and digital versions, the most recent update or FAQ will take precedence. Each player must bring a Warhammer Fantasy Battles rulebook, the most currently published rules for all units represented in their army and all materials needed to play a game/report the results - including dice, measuring devices, templates, and a writing implement, if you have a copy of the Triumph and Treachery rules it would be beneficial to bring a copy as this was a limited edition game set and not everyone might have been able to get a copy of the rules! If illegal units or rules violations are found in a player's list, at a minimum, the models in violation will be removed from all subsequent play. Tournament points may be deducted and award eligibility may be forfeited. Please ask any questions you may have regarding rules issues or legal units in advance! TO’s rulings are final and arguments or poor conduct by players will not be tolerated. As this ruleset for this game does make use of various ways in order to counter and redirect choices and options made by other players, there are times where tensions may rise and attitudes may swell, in these situations remember we are all here to have a good time, if anyone gets out of hand the TO will address the situation with a limited interruption of gameplay.
