Visit with well-known chefs in 6 homes from 11 am - 2 pm on Saturday, May 16 in the beautiful Oak Harbor neighborhood in the center of Azle while enjoying a "Taste Of Summer" culinary creation they have prepared especially for our event.
The casual social atmosphere of the past 2 events has been so popular as guests are given a "sneak peek" into 5 of Azle's most luxurious homes! Comments from the first Taste Tour in 2011 like "I hope they do this again!" and "what a great idea!" have prompted the Community Caring Center to continue this wonderful biennial event. This year's event has been expanded to include an outdoor market area and outdoor cooking demonstrations.
Guests enter the home and are given a "sneak-peek" as they enter and walk to the kitchen area where they can visit with chefs and friends. This year's "Taste of Summer" preparers are:
• Anthony Aguillon, Chef/Owner, La Choza Fine Foods
• Caris Turpen, Chef/Owner, Lightcatcher Winery & Bistro
• Julia Dunaway, Private Chef, Chef Julia Personal Chef Services
• Judie Byrd, Chef, Cookbook Author and Food Writer
• Cheryl Raeside, Chef/Owner Simply Scrumptious
• Janet Z Capua, Chef/Owner Z's Café
• Charles Youts, Executive Chef, The Classic at Roanoke
• Kevin and Susan Simich, Owners 1926 Farmers Market
Cooking demonstrations with samples will occur in the park at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. These sessions are limited to the first 40 guests to arrive. There will also be a raffle and other food give aways set up in the park area.
An exclusive VIP party on Thursday before the event is an unique evening for our sponsors, large donors, chefs and home owners and will be held in another beautiful Oak Harbor home. Guests will enjoy food prepared by an area celebrity chef, Jerrett Joslin, co-owner/Chef at Vintage Grill & Car Museum and owner/Chef at Wild Mushroom Steak House, while enjoying the musical talents of a popular entertainer, Nick Tittle!
