Tailor-Made Renovation: An In-Progress Tour
June 6, 10:00 am - noon
Tailor Shop OTR, 1667 Hamer Street, Over-the-Rhine
On June 6, CPA’s popular Renovation in Progress tours return to Over-the-Rhine, heading North of Liberty to visit the OTR Tailor Shop.
Built in 1870, the three-story brick Italianate building at 1667 Hamer St housed generations of German-American tailors and seamstresses. It then languished in vacancy for over 20 years. It is now under renovation using historic tax incentives, preserving as much historic material as possible inside and out. When finished it will house three apartments.
Please note that the building is a construction site and has many steps. It is not handicap-accessible and is not air-conditioned. Casual clothes and sturdy, closed shoes are a must. Free parking available on street.
After touring the Tailor Shop, shop, lunch or relax at historic Findlay Market: only two blocks west.
Admission free for CPA members and students, $5 for guests. Reservations required: 513-721-4506, email@example.com. Read the fascinating history of the Tailor Shop here: http://tailorshopotr.com/apartments/history/
