The gentle art of tai chi is based on the Taoist philosophy of living in harmony with nature. The best way to experience this mind-body practice is outdoors, surrounded by the trees, birds, sun, clouds and wind. Raccoon Creek State Park’s Friends Group is pleased to host a six-session introduction to tai chi with Gurney Bolster, Senior Trainer of the Tai Chi for Health Institute and founder of Tai Chi for Health Pittsburgh. She will teach Dr. Paul Lam’s “Tai Chi for Beginners” on the last Saturday of each month from May through October. (May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29, September 26, and October 31)We will meet outside to commune with nature; feeling the earth under our feet and the sky overhead. If the weather does not cooperate, we will meet inside. Fee for the session of six classes is $115, which includes the “Tai Chi for Beginners” DVD. Individual classes for $25 may be available if the six class program does not fill. Contact the Park by email email@example.com or phone 724-899-3611 for information and to register. No equipment necessary. Please wear flat, flexible shoes, and comfortable clothes appropriate to the season. Details and site location will be sent out once registered.
