Warwick Potter conducts the combined forces of The University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the UQ Chorale. Joining them are special guest choirs from primary and secondary schools throughout Queensland to perform Carl Orff’s monumental classic, Carmina Burana.
Orff’s classic is matched by Bernstein’s West Side Story Symphonic Dances. Also included in the program is the stunning fanfare Skyscrapers by award winning UQ composer John Rotar, Queensland composer Matthew Hindson’s LITEspeed, and John Adam’s Short Ride in a Fast Machine. With 500 musicians on stage directed by Graeme Morton AM, and Warwick Potter, don’t miss this chance to hear a powerful performance from Queensland’s emerging talent.
