This mission is geared towards promotion of health via exercise and proper diet. The STRONG Movement aims to encourage the community at large to embark on physical fitness and building a stronger and healthier body/ lifestyle.
The Annual BIKE THE HUDSON is Strong Movement’s signature event to kick off the summer months. Where an amazing community of cyclists, volunteers, sponsors, and beneficiary organizations come together to host one of the most fun bike rides in New York City.
WHY WE RIDE:
We ride the “Bike the Hudson” to make sure that every family facing Diabetes in our community has access to the support they need to fight it. Also we ride to support and promote the following:
• Physical Fitness
• Arm Forces Day Commemoration
• Diabetes awareness
The group will meet and start in the Inwood section of Manhattan and ride down to Chelsea Pier and then head back for an ending reception. Start up location will be the Tread Bike Shop located at 250 Dyckman St, New York, NY 10034
This event is for riders of all levels of riding ability, the serious and not so serious riders.
• We will have a “Bike the Hudson” ending reception for ride participants and spectators with live music, food, Zumba, line dancing, and Salsa dance-alongs, and a helmet decorating contest with prizes.
The event entails a bicycle ride via the Hudson River Greenway from the Inwood section of Manhattan to Chelsea Piers and then back to Inwood. Total route distance is 20.1 miles.
• Kids Fun Ride 5 miles (We will head to West 165th and then head back to Inwood)
•10 miles (We will head to Chelsea Pier and then shuttle people back to Inwood)
•20 miles (We head to Chelsea Pier and then back to Inwood)
