Something Familiar, Something Peculiar, Something for Everyone, A Burlesque Tonight!
Coming off the success of their Tennessee Williams tribute, Ass Menagerie, everyone's favorite theatre nerds of burlesque, The Cyn Factory, are coming out with their most ambitious project yet: an all singing, all stripping, homage to Stephen Sondheim!
Ignored by the mainstream and beloved by theatre weirdos, Sondheim and Cyn Factory have a lot in common. While working in genres best known for glitter and frivolity, both Sondheim and Cyn Factory choose to mine and create material that is strange, dark, emotionally challenging and funny in some very odd ways. And if Sondheim can write songs based on presidential assassinations, aging showgirls and the history of Japan, it's not that much weirder for us to take off our clothes to those songs.
Join us at The Bier Baron Tavern, on June 6th at 9pm to watch Mary Cyn, Sarah Tops, Dick Move, and Charles Stunning bring you tributes to Sondheim's works like you have never seen them before.
Phone rings, door chimes, here comes nudity...
