Hello friends and family !
It's that time again! I wanted to let you know that I've once again signed up to be team captain for the 2015 "EVERSOURCE Walk for Kids" to benefit Boston Children's Hospital.
As you may or may not know, my cousin Sara was diagnosed in 2011 with a rare bone marrow disease called Aplastic Anemia. It has been a long, scary , sometimes stressful journey, but after a successful bone marrow transplant in 2014, she is happy and healthy thanks to Boston Children's Hospital! (For more on Sara's story , visit the Team Page).
In the past year, Sara has resumed taking online college classes at North Shore Community College, and has been growing her dog walking / dog-sitting business. She also started baking and selling pies and other baked goods (which are DELICIOUS). Sara even won FIRST PLACE at the Attleboro Farmer's Market Apple Pie Contest!
It would mean a lot to me if you could help me reach my personal fundraising goal of $200.00 towards the team's goal of $2000. We are giving back to the great institution who did so much for her in our family's time of need! Do not feel obligated to give, but please consider joining our cause :)
All donations to our team "STRIDES 4 SARA" will benefit the TRANSPLANT & RESEARCH wards of the hospital to ensure that the staff can continue to treat transplant patients as wonderfully as they treated my cousin Sara.
And if you're interested in doing more than just donating, please consider joining my team ** and walking with us! There is a 2 mile or 7 mile route through beautiful BOSTON with snacks along the way and a large party/gathering before and after to celebrate our cause. Steve and I have walked the past 2 years. It is a ton of fun and supports an excellent cause!
** NOTE: As an employee of the walk's sponsor, Eversource (formerly NSTAR), my good friend Jenna has obtained a discount code which will waive the registration fee of $25 if you are registering to walk. (Thanks, Jenna!)
