The 1st Annual Strasburg Blues Festival will kick off at Noon on Saturday, June 6th (gates open at 10 AM) at the Strasburg Moose grounds. There will be SEVEN, count em', SEVEN great bands playing for your delectation, including local favorites and legends Concrete Blues and The Hard Swimmin' Fish . From the DC-Baltimore-Delaware corridor is WAMMIE Award winner and IBC finalist Michael Tash with his incredible Bad Influence Band . JUMPIN' JUPITER WAMMIE nominee and Virginia's premiere rockabilly outfit. The Holy Goats , the best thing to come out of Jersey since Springsteen. And what would a blues festival be without the inclusion of a blues player with a national cult. That's right, we've brought back Clarence "The Blues Man" Turner , a man so right, so down with the blues, that you'll come way from his performance thinking you've heard da blooze for the first time. And last, and certainly not least, is our brilliant headliner, Albert Castiglia Band , one of the greatest blues guitarists alive. His band ain't too shabby, neither.
The festive atmosphere will include wonderful arts and crafts vendors, food vendors offering mouth-watering delights, and even a strolling illusionist Illusions By Vick! And all for a great cause -- the Moose charities, the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department, and the Strasburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Tickets on sale now and can be had by calling 804-214-0312 and charging over the phone. That's a mere pittance at $15 in advance, $20 at the door for all of this fabulousness and fun! Students get in for $10, as do Moose members. Children under 12 are free. Bring your beach and lawn chairs. No coolers or pets, please!
