Run for charity (and for fun)!
What to expect at the event:
-Musical performance (jazz)
-World record attempt (longest distance carrying a person)
-Activities for all ages (mini obstacle course, face painting etc)
-Two 5k runs (starting earlier)
-Club stands (Renaissance club, GSA, and more)
We want this event to be for all ages, so don't feel hesitant to bring your family and friends. Whether your running or just hanging out, we want you to be there!
For the sake of liability, runners must be at least 11 years old. Admission into the run event is $10. (Note: All of this money is going to the charity. We made sure that overhead cost would not effect donators' contributions)
If you want to donate separately, feel free!
Why we are hosting the event:
This event is planned and hosted by a number of high school students at Gresham High School who have gathered together to raise money for the CourtsForKids Organization, which builds basketball courts for small towns around the world who are lacking in areas for recreational activities.
We liked what CourtsForKids represented, having heard of it from a student teacher who traveled to latin america during his high school career, and after meeting with CEO Derek Nesland, we got a better idea of what we needed to really make a difference.
