The last Back 40 Songwriters Circle for the season will take place Thursday, May 28, starting at 7:00 upstairs at the Morden Art Gallery. Here’s what you need to bring:
• A song. Preferably something that’s pretty new, that you think has some potential, but that you’re open to working on. In other words, there’s not much point in bringing a track from your new CD, since it’s doubtful you’re open to revisions at this point. Bring about 10 copies of your lyrics for circle members to follow along with and give you notes to take away with you at the end of the evening. Also bring something to write with.
• Some way to play your tune, typically a guitar or a keyboard. It’s important to remember that the circle is about the song, not your performance chops, so don’t be shy. But if you are shy about playing, you can get off the hook with a demo if you like, as long as you bring some way for folks to hear it.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of or if you have any questions please contact Bill Dowling at email@example.com , or 204-325-9367. If you’re planning on coming please let him know so we have an idea for setting up.
