May 16th is booked! Space Coyote Gaming presents: Smashkatoon Salty Seconds! We all get salty from time to time, so now is your chance to call people out for a Salty Second money match, PR match, dittos, or all of the above to be played live on stream, in front of everyone there!! Choose the game - Melee or Project M? You make the rules! Bo3? Bo5? First to 7? Character lock? $5? $50? Power ranking match? Color on the line?Whatever you and your opponent agree upon for the rules and what will be on the line is completely up to you! There will be a Salty Seconds thread where you can call out people you want to challenge. Once a challenge is accepted please let me know what the game, rules, and wager will be for the game so I can set up a schedule accordingly. Will likely play all of Melee one after the other, then Project M one after the other, or vice versa. Matches will likely be played in order of hype! We will be doing Melee/PM singles and a side event featuring All-Star Mode in Project M prior to the Salty Seconds event. If there's time we will commence crew battles. No Smash for Wii U this time around (sorry Smash 4 people) but if you wanna come hang out or enter Project M or Melee you should definitely come because it's gonna be AWESOME! If you want, you could even bring a Wii U setup and take part in all the hype shit going down while still playing some Sm4sh friendlies! ===Venue Info=== Location: Sandman Hotel - Royal Room 310 Circle Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7L 2Y5 There is plenty of free parking in the Sandman parking lot and Denny's parking lot. Each player's stock must represent a different character. 4 stocks = 4 different characters ===Super Smash Bros. Project M Singles=== If Project M 3.6 is out then we will be using that, stage list and build will likely be different, otherwise... We will be using version 3.5 The build can be downloaded from here: Project M: homebrew Project M: no homebrew 4 Stock, 8 Minutes. No Items. Neutral (starting) Stages are: Battlefield Pokemon Stadium 2 Smashville Dreamland Green Hill Zone Counterpick Stages are: Lylat Cruise Distant Planet Yoshi’s Story WarioWare Final Destination Yoshi’s Island Pokemon Stadium 1 Norfair Fountain of Dreams How stage picking and character picking will work: Both players choose their characters and then battle it out in rock, paper scissors. The winner of rock, paper, scissors will ban 1 stage, then the loser bans 2 stages, then the winner bans 1, and then the remaining stage will be selected by the winner of rock, paper, scissors. The winner of the match gets to ban 3 of the allowed stages. Once the stage is banned then loser picks the stage. Winner picks character, loser picks character. The match is played. ===Super Smash Bros. Melee Singles=== 4 Stock, 8 Minutes. No Items. Neutral (starting) Stages are: Battlefield Final Destination Dreamland Yoshi’s Story Fountain of Dreams Counterpick Stage is: Pokemon Stadium How stage picking and character picking will work: Both players choose their characters and then battle it out in rock, paper scissors. The winner of rock, paper scissors will ban 1 stage, then loser bans 2 stages, then winner will ban 1 and then the stage that is remaining will be the stage that is selected. The winner of the match gets to ban 1 of the allowed stages. Once stage is banned then loser picks the stage. Winner picks character, loser picks character. The match is played. ===General Rules=== 1. Be respectful of the venue. 2. Tournament events are double elimination format. If you lose a match, you go into the loser's bracket, if you loose again, you're out. 3. Pools (if applicable) will be Bo3 sets. 4. No coaching during a match (consulting between matches is fine). 5. Both players may agree to any rule or stage outside the tournament ruleset. 6. Pausing during a match, unless okayed by the other player, will result in the loss of one stock for the pauser. 7. Quitting out of a match before it is over will result in a loss for the quitter. 8. No custom stages, textures, or hackpacks are permitted for Melee and Project M unless specified by the TO. Custom music is allowed as long as it's not too distracting. 9. In case of Time Out, stock and % will determine winner. Sets are Bo3 Games. Winner's Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Finals will be Bo5 games. 10. Bracket reset is in affect for Grand finals. Essentially the person for Loser's side of bracket must win two sets and the person from Winner's side only needs to win one set. 11. If a match is ended by a suicide move that kills both players at the same time (for example a Kirbicide or Ganondorf side-b) then the person that initiated the move wins the match. 12. Dave’s Stupid Rule is in effect. Basically, if you win on a stage, you cannot pick that stage again unless agreed upon by your opponent. 13. If you are not present for a match you are being called for one and no one knows where you are/no one can reach you, you will be given 10 minutes time to show up or you will be DQ'd so the tournament can progress. Sorry. Just has to be done. 14. If you have to leave for whatever reason, tell a TO or someone that is helping manage the tournament. This applies to dropping out of the tournament, going to get food, going for a smoke, etc. just so we know where you are when you have a match to play. Special arrangements can be made if you have to leave for a bit to attend to whatever depending on how long you will be gone for. If you are already out of the tournament then you don't have to worry about this rule. 15. In the event that the game crashes or the TV/Wii loses power in the middle of a match, that match will be restarted from the beginning with the same characters and stage. If a player uses a known glitch to intentionally crash the game or otherwise make it unfinishable, that player may be forced to forfeit the match or be DQed at the TO’s discretion. 16. Giga Bowser is banned. 17. Don't be dicks to each other. 18. Have fun. ===Info=== Main Stream Brackets Youtube Facebook Twitter Email
