The Sixth Ohio Volunteer Infantry will be at Spring Grove reenacting a Civil War encampment in Section 21, the Civil War Section. This event will take place on June 12 - 14, 2015.
The Sixth Ohio Volunteer Infantry is a reenactment and living history group with members in Cincinnati, Dayton, Springfield. Columbus, Northern Kentucky and their surrounding areas. They participate in 10 to 12 events a year from small camps to large national events.
Their mission is to recreate as accurately as possible an infantry company of the Civil War (1861-65). They portray an impression primarily of Western Theater Federal soldiers, and strive for the highest level of individual and unit authenticity and accuracy.
The 6th OVI believe that authenticity and accuracy are essential to the creation of a high-quality interpretation of historical events and people. They try to act as a military organization when in the field, and make as few concessions to the present as they possibly can, using common sense with regard to health and safety.
