Come join us for the annual spring float! The rare Shoal Lily (Hymenocallis coronaria) that grows on the lower section of the Broad River at Clarks HIll Lake should be in full bloom at this time! We will float from Hwy 17 to Hwy 79 in Elbert, Wilkes and Lincoln counties, ending in beautiful Anthony Shoals.
Pre-registration is required. Please send a message to BRWA's Facebook page, email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Jean Smith at 706.783.2308 or 706.340.3187 cell.
Broad River Outpost will provide a bus to shuttle boats up river. Bring your own kayak/canoe or call BRO at 706-795-3242 to arrange a rental. For non-BRWA members, there is also a shuttle fee of $5 per person or $10 per family in addition to the cost of the boat rental. Shuttle is free for BRWA members. Meet at the Broad River Park and Campground on Hwy 79 in Lincoln County at 9:30am. Go to parking area near campground showers ($3 or $4 parking fee). We will also do a river cleanup during the float as part of National River Cleanup Week. Bring a lunch and a camera!
Hope to see you there!
