Sharde is a 29 year old beautiful woman from Long Island, NY. At 25 years old, while enjoying her engagement and upcoming wedding to Jake, her high school sweetheart, Sharde discovered a lump in one of her breasts. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Determined and focused, she fought her first battle by having a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy, while also continuing to walk down the isle with her father to her new husband. A beautiful bride, daughter, friend, and an inspiration to everyone who has the honor of being a part of her life and journey, she never gave in to this disease or the stress that comes with it. Eventually, she conquered her first fight and moved on to participating and personally hosting several events to support and spread Breast Cancer awareness, and was even interviewed for our local paper! After her recovery, Sharde and Jake began holding annual Breast Cancer Support Tournaments in their backyard to raise money for local cancer charities. With her husband Jake, her amazing parents Debbie and Bill, her brother Carson, and countless family and friends supporting her along the way, we thought she cleared the toughest hurdle.
"I am too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated..."
Several months ago, Sharde began to experience difficulty breathing and went to her doctor. After several doctor appointments and exams and tests, and pushing medical teams to figure out what was ailing her, the devastating news broke that Shardes cancer had returned, and was now Stage 4. Still the same figher we know and love from Round One, her strength and perseverance continues as she goes through new chemotherapy treatments to fight this disease. She is currently being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where her doctors are following her every move and response to treatment. Her optimism and strength continues to inspire all who cross her path and we are all fighting this together by her side.
NOW is where YOU can help. We have decided to begin different fundraisers and events to help support The Lamnecks during the biggest fight yet. The mounting medical expenses and loss of income are challenging to tackle. We are asking for you to donate what you can...maybe you can match the price of your morning cup of coffee, or maybe you can offer more. Nothing is too small or too big, but every single cent will most certainly be guaranteed to be appreciated. The generosity and support of our friends and family has always been overwhelming and we thank you. Please help us continue to spread the word and fight this fight!!! #ShardeStrong #NoOneFightsAlone
