You are invited to join us at an exciting new walking event taking place this Spring and help us celebrate our 40th Anniversary.
Seaside Walk Week is a series of nine guided walks over nine days at nine picturesque locations across the UK. You, your family and friends can take part in one, a few, or even – if you’re really keen – all nine! You’ll also get the chance to meet some of us from the Family Holiday Association team, as we’ll be putting our best feet forward too.
Join us for a seaside walk at Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
The origins of Family Holiday Association can be traced back to Southend-on-Sea where our founders, Pat and Joan Laurance, enjoyed a much needed break when they themselves were going through a tough time - you can read more in our 40th Anniversary brochure.
Join us for an easy yet satisfying coastal walk along the seafront. Starting from Leigh-on-Sea station, the walk passes the famous seafood sheds where you can watch cockles being unloaded from the boats, and on through the picturesque centre of Old Leigh. From here the path continues straight along the coast with breath-taking views of the estuary over to Kent. Approaching Southend, you’ll pass under the cliff gardens at Westcliff, arriving at the Grade II listed pier - the longest pier in Britain!
