Join us for a powerful 2-day mini-immersion with Seane Corn for her very first experience in Jax! Join us Tuesday June 9 and Wednesday June 10 for an experience you won't soon forget! ABOUT SEANE: Seane Corn is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher known for her impassioned activism, unique self-expression, and inspirational style of teaching, capable of gracefully incorporating both the physical and mystical aspects of yoga into her classes. Featured in commercials, magazines, NPR, and, Seane now utilizes her national platform to bring awareness to global humanitarian issues. Over the span of ten years, Seane has been honored by YouthAIDS, Global Green, and the Freer Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian Institute. In 2007, she began training leaders of activism through her co-founded organization Off the Mat, Into the World®. Seane has spent time in the US, India, Cambodia, Africa, Ecuador and Haiti working with communities in need- teaching yoga, providing support for child labor, the environment and educating people about HIV/AIDS prevention. Seane is also co-founder of the Seva Challenge Humanitarian Tours, which have raised over $4.5 million since 2007, getting the yoga community involved in fund and awareness raising efforts across the globe. Her self-authored dvds are available through Gaiam, Yoga Journal and Sounds True. Tuesday night: (5:30p – 6:30pm) EMBODYING SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM- Master Teacher Roundtable with Seane Corn* Join Seane for a candid talk about her journey and life as a female yogi, a seeker, student, teacher and ultimately, a servant. Hear first-hand about her work on and off the yoga mat, her projects around the globe - the challenges and set-backs of doing service work, and how the integration of self-care, self-responsibility, self-processing and owning can bring one deeper into the mystery of life, and deeper into purpose, however that looks for you. In this conversation, Seane speaks from her personal experience about the process of truth-telling that leads to genuine empowerment, and how listening to intuition and choosing Spirit and love over ego is as rewarding as it is challenging. Short talk and organic Q&A. (7pm- 9pm) THE BODY AND BEYOND Vinyasa means to link movement with breath. In this master class, we will explore the multifaceted dynamics of Vinyasa Flow yoga, including focusing on proper alignment, pranayama, meditation, reflection and prayer. Through the integration of asana, proper breathing techniques and conscious intention learn how to experience the creative and powerful practice of Vinyasa Flow as a devotional expression of life -beyond the body. This meditative dance not only strengthens, tones and stimulates all the various systems of our bodies, but also initiates us to the knowledge that there is no separation of the mind and body, matter and consciousness, heaven and earth- you and I. Experience with Sun Salutes A and B is recommended. all levels welcome. Mostly asana. Wednesday morning: (9am – 12pm) DETOX FLOW®: Purification for Optimal Health and Wellness Each day we are exposed to toxins that affect our energy, health and vitality.Many of our ailments and diseases today, including fatigue, weight gain, high blood pressure and depression can be attributed to a poor diet, environmental stressors, lack of exercise as well as repressed emotions. In this master class, we will explore how we can improve our physical heath, increase our vitality, decrease our susceptibility to illness and disease, balance our emotions and develop practical tools for managing stress. The creative yoga sequences in this workshop will utilize three internal components for cleansing-abdominal compression, decompression and twists, and will include Sun Salutations A and B, detox standing sequences, inverted poses, breathing exercises and a restorative cool down. This intensive is designed to assist us in examining our habits, encourage proactive involvement with personal health though choice and self-responsibility, and help provide suggestions on how to choose what is best for our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. This class is for all levels, but will be challenging, provocative and create heat. Experience with sun salutes A and B is highly recommended. All levels welcome. Some discussion/mostly asana.
