Each participant who raises over $500.00 will receive a free running jersey! Want to know a bit more about where your donations will go? We are proud to partner, once again, with the Canadian Cancer Society and the QEII Foundation. Each dollar raised is matched! $1.00 = $3.00! This partnership amounts to $1.4 million dollars in research funding! Not stopping here, the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation joined the above partnership, bringing the total to $1.5 million dollars! In addition to the partnership above, we work collaboratively with the Beatrice Hunter Research Institute. Together, we have funded 2 award winning Pancreatic Cancer Research Grants in Atlantic Canada and share the cost of funding these grants 50/50! Funding for these two grants has totaled $72,000.00/ Where will the funds that you raised go? RESEARCH ~We are pleased to announce that we remain the only group of organizations, working collaboratively, to provide research funding for pancreatic cancer, right here in Atlantic Canada! So your dollars raised in Atlantic Canada benefit Atlantic Canadian researchers, along with other researchers across Canada! SUPPORT ~ In addition, we provide Patient Support Grants. We have presently provided over $15,000.00 in grants here in Atlantic Canada alone. So once again, dollars raised in Atlantic Canada benefit Atlantic Canadians! We also provide free Pancreatic Cancer Guide books and DVD’s and offer a Support Group in Halifax. All Support Groups are filmed and uploaded to our website for everyone to view. AWARENESS /Education ~ In each province, where walks are held, we provide radio commercials, newspaper ads, and billboards to create awareness about this devastating disease. We also hope that this provides patients and caregivers with information needed to find available supports. Our awareness walks offer support, awareness and education by providing a place for patients and caregivers to come together with others who understand what they are going through.
