Revered as the oldest multisport event in Minnesota, the 33rd Sartell Apple Duathlon will be held on Saturday, May 23th, 2015 in Sartell, Minnesota. This is a standard short course duathlon: 5k run – 33k bike – 5k run. The race starts at Sartell Middle School then heads north through St. Stephen and back on River Road (County Road 1) along the Mississippi River. As a local and state favorite, the Apple has a strong history of hosting top athletes and sent many qualifiers to World competition in 2013. In addition to having a very solid athlete group, we also pride our race on the course and volunteers that make it run smooth. The course is challenging but well marked, organized and scenic. Our volunteer base consists of many local athletes and families that have been a part of the race for years. Along with the City of Sartell, local public works, schools and businesses support the event and work closely with our committee to ensure a safe race. Rules The Sartell Apple Duathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT) and requires each participant to purchase his or her own one-day license or hold an annual membership in order to participate in the race. During registration, you will be directed to the USAT modal to enter your annual membership number or purchase a one-day or annual membership.
