Come and join Jill Conway, Mark Trevis and Sara Fitzpatrick as we gather together in the majesty of the forest to sing, to sound and to listen deeply. We open our hearts and souls to connect with the land and with each other. We invite exploration and discovery of the human voice, in it's full range of expression from beautiful tones and songs, to laughter and spontaneous sonic landscapes; be they fiery/cool, intense/soft, primal/complex.
On this special occasion, Sara is joining us to use her fiddle to create a spontaneous soundscape inspired by the forest and the constellation of Souls who gather.
Date: Saturday, May 23
Location: Meet at the powerlines on B & K Road (off Hwy 101) near Cliff Gilker Park to coordinate carpools. From there we travel to the Elphinstone Health Trail and will have an easy hike into a mossy area surrounded by our "standing tall" ancestors.
Cost: $10 or a "good trade" exchange
The Elphinstone Health Trail is on the traditional territory of the Shishálh Nation and has been established by Elphinstone Logging Focus.
We honor the original song and story keepers of this beautiful land we inhabit. One of the key intentions of Sacred Sound in Sacred Space events is to assist in unifying the Sunshine Coast as we sit in circle to share and sing each others songs. We hold the vision of infinite possibilities in bridging cultures, building community, and sharing resources that create unity with our natural environment, within ourselves and with each other.
