On Saturday, 23 May, the Newport News Rugby Football Club will host the third annual Rugby for the Warrior fundraising event to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Tidewater area is inextricably linked with United States Military, and many of our past and present players have served this country in her armed forces. In an attempt to give back to the community, the Newport News Rugby Football Club is sponsoring an all-day rugby event to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a group dedicated:
To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members.
To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
We at the NNRFC believe in this organization and its goals, and are proud to help support the warriors who support us.
The day will start with local youth matches, move on to events with the Newport News Men's team in a round robin tourney and then end with an Old Boys game.
