An extremely popular cycle sportive based at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk. The scenic but challenging 80 mile route takes in Hunter's Hill, Rivington Reservoir, Foxholes, Matchmoor, passed Belmont Village & Edgworth onto the infamous Roman Road for 6 undulating miles before returning past Tockholes, Brindle, Hillhouse Lane, Walton le Dale, Midge Hall, Croston & Mawdesley. (There's an equally impressive 36 mile route that also includes Hunter's Hill to ensure riders will face an early challenge!)
I've already entered (£16) because it was oversubscribed last year (and it's cheaper if you enter in December).
In case you're wondering, I'll be doing the long route on my road bike. So, yes, I'd better get training.
