Bring a bucket to keep your fish alive while waiting for measurements if you plan to catch-and-release.

The Saint John Kiwanis Club will be having a fundraising BBQ!
Rain or Shine! The fish won't mind.
See the Department of Natural Resource’s “Fish 2015” Guide for regulations and bag limits.
Our goal is for this fishing derby to be fun, but also safe for both the participants and the fish. We ask that you please observe the following techniques to minimize the impact to fish that are being caught-and-released:
- Use single, barbless hooks to reduce damage and time spent out of water removing the hook. Barbed hooks can be modified by pinching the barb flat with pliers.
- Do not squeeze fish, support the body gently with both hands. Do not touch the gills or eyes.
- Bring a bucket to hold your fish while awaiting measurement, and a scoop to keep the bucket supplied with cool, oxygenated water.
By following these safe-handling practices, we can help assure that the fish caught and released will continue to contribute to a healthy population in our lakes.
