Sandpiper Productions East & MAX FM 103.9 present THE STAMPEDERS and RIK EMMETT (An Acoustic Night of TRIUMPH) Multiple Juno award winners and Canadian Rock Legends THE STAMPEDERS, best known for their 1971 Billboard chart topper, “Sweet City Woman,” went on to have 10, top-ten hits in Canada and 4 in the U.S. Other hits included Carry Me, Devil You, Wild Eyes, Oh My Lady, Minstrel Gypsy, Ramona, New Orleans, Then Came The White Man, Playing In The Band, Keep Me Running Wild and Hit The Road Jack featuring Wolfman Jack. In addition to many individual songwriting awards, the original Stampeders - Rich Dodson, Kim Berly and Ronnie King – were honoured with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from SOCAN at a gala held at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto. The Stampeders have continued to tour across Canada since their reunion in 1992 and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon and are ready to rock Moncton once again in June of 2015. RIK EMMETT gained international notoriety as the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist with the hard rock trio Triumph. By ‘79 three albums had gone platinum in Canada and two charted in the States, By ‘81 Triumph was firmly established as one of the premier touring rock acts in North America, In the next seven years, the band released ten gold albums, with four turning platinum in Canada. In the U.S., two went gold. With massive hits like Follow Your Heart, Magic Power, Lay It On The Line, Hold On, Somebody’s Out There and many more, Rik Emmett has done everything from jamming with Alex Lifeson of Rush at the Guitar Workshop Plus to huge classic rock outdoor shows with Triumph, to intimate acoustic duo gigs. Four gold & platinum decades in the music biz have provided entry into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame, the Music Industry Hall of Fame and the Junos Hall of Fame, with a few ‘Best Guitarist’ awards in various categories garnered along the way.
