REID JAMIESON ~ singer songwriter Vancouver BC “Gorgeous, sun-struck acoustic soul" - Globe & Mail CANADA’S BEST KEPT SECRET… Vancouver's Reid Jamieson shines his light with an incredible voice, therapeutic lyrics, and magical way with melodies. A regular on Vinyl Cafe, and winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (folk), he has recorded with Cowboy Junkies, Samantha Parton (Be Good Tanyas), Sarah Harmer and various members of Blue Rodeo. Reid can often be found performing as an entertaining duo with his saucy wife and songwriting partner Carolyn Mill. Along with the Lennon win, this creative couple wrote their way into the Vancouver Folk Music Festival by winning 1st prize in the Pickin' a Folk Star Contest. Reid has just released a new album (their first singing together on disc) titled Juniper’s Kitchen. They wrote and sang every song together - a little Johnny & June meets Fleetwood Mac - and all about the songs. New record with the missus! JUNIPER’S KITCHEN (Independent). All songs written and performed by Reid Jamieson & Carolyn Victoria Mill. Featuring: Keith Rose, Jon Arason, Anne Lindsay (Blue Rodeo), John Sheard, Lewis Melville, Sam Parton & Paul Rigby (Neko Case). Listen to the new record for FREE here: WATCH Reid perform the award winning tune 'RAIL' live at sunset: or some old school ‘ONLY YOU’ (The Platters) Duet with the missus: ‘NOT MAKING HISTORY’ (a song every musician will feel deep down) SUZANNE (Leonard Cohen) PRESS: “I don't know how I missed it, but somewhere between the release of his debut CD, 'Staring Contest' and what could be mistaken for a simple holiday album 'Songs For A Winter's Night,' Reid Jamieson has become the greatest Canadian pop singer" - "Neither derivative nor nostalgic...a work of elegant, understated beauty that juggles elements of plaintive folk, rock and countrified pop while enveloping the listener in the atmospheric glow of his soulful vocals."- Paste Magazine (4 to Watch) "After Reid appeared on the Vinyl Cafe we received tremendous feedback from our audience. He stole the show...He blew me away." Stuart McLean - CBC Vinyl Café "Jamieson's songs are unabashedly crisp (take that, Bonnie Prince!), drenched in wistful piano/guitar melodies, and centered on his satin whisper." - 'Toronto boy kicks Josh Rouse’s ass crooning indie-soul-country classics all of his own making...your life will be better with this music in it.'- Americana UK "Seemingly limitless potential and a total package that screams mainstream accessibility without losing credibility. Take that, John Mayer." - Glorious Noise Chicago IL "Prepare to be surprised" - Vancouver Province 'Arresting... dazzling voice' - Toronto Sun 'In a few short bars Reid stole the show' - Now Magazine ‘I can't wait to hear more from this talented artist, and predict big things to come' - Roots Music Report, Texas 'Look out for this cat.
