Like in the old days when people came together to raise a barn, we are having a raised veggie bed construction day. The Woodend Neighbourhood House has asked us for two raised beds to go at the front of the house to start a Food is Free site. The house is donating workshop space and some wooden pallets. If you want to help us build a bed, have tools or equipment to contribute, or if you can help us dig and plant up, then come along.
What to Bring: Gloves, work clothes, garden tools, wheelbarrows or buckets, seeds to plant, some food to share.
We will provide tea, coffee and soup for lunch.
Donations: We are still in need of a couple of items - Heavy duty plastic sheeting, loose fill or gravel, compost, poly-pipe, any spare timber or paint for making signs.

Thank you to the Food is Free Project for the great photo! I hope our beds are as colourful as this!
