This year we have a boat for swimmer support and safety over the course of the event- Thank you Ian Robertson, Chief Safety Officer for NZ Swim Safaris. Some additional kayak support will be provided by Todd Pritchard myself Tracey Mckinstry) and anyone else that is willing to volunteer! Please get in touch if you can.
Briefing is at the swim start location. Make your way to the Moonhouse/Spaceship/Flying Saucer to meet me and the crew. We will be at the garage for event registration. I recommend parking at finish point and car pooling with others to the start point.
Please turn up to register between 7-7:45AM.
Swim time 8AM, pronto! - for a nice fast tide assisted swim among the mint limestone eroded treasures - those who swam it last year will know how wickedly awesome and sharp it is.... sharp, which leads me to the next point, we are starting a little later this year to have more water between you and the rocks, however do bring swimming gloves just in case.
Traditional post-swim refreshments is a must. Tea, coffee, biscuits will be provided. If any of you would like to go a step further and bring a plate for morning tea or lunch please do so and stay a bit after the swim to chillax.... jump the bridge maybe!?!?....if you dare!?!? ;-)
If weather is yuk, we will have a backup plan. There is also a short course avail for those that need it.
Accommodation at Kopua Holiday Park is choice - so i highly recommend that. I'll be there from Saturday.
Thank you and look forward to seeing you all soon!!
Please openly blog any questions you may have - all my seasoned Swim Safarians will be more than delighted to answer your questions and give you tips and advice.
Cheers a million zillion,
